The Terry Gordon Quintet is a jazz group based in upstate New York featuring a creative, adventurous approach to original music. With the combination of creative players and unique original compositions, TGQ has created its own distinctive brand of musical excitement.
Since 1992 the Terry Gordon Quintet has been presenting its music in concert settings and jazz clubs throughout the northeast, has been the recipient of a New York State arts grant for composition, and has released three well-received C.D.s: Wakeup Call (buttonhooks), Contemplations (Flying Gurnard), and Homeward Bound (WEPA).
The band works regularly as either a quintet or a quartet, and can tailor their musical presentation to the venue or event, including adding compositions from the standard jazz repertoire to their presentation of original music.
